Throwing sticks into the fire,
Watching them burn-
   Convert to air,
   Ash,
   Dust.
Then you can make lye
   from the ashes-
   Ink from the charcoal.
Puffy billows of smoke
   into your delicious jerky
   and the air we breathe.
Crackling of water back into the ground,
   & whatever remains
   decays and feeds the earth.
